Personal Gear
Luggage: On Intrepid we suggest duffle bags or soft sided luggage. These are easier to store.
Apparel: Shirts, Shorts, and Pants – Enough for each day. Don't forget it gets WARM on these long trips. Clothing made of quick drying fabric is advisable.
Socks and Underwear: Socks 1 or 2 pair per day, especially if you fish in tennis shoes. Underwear, do not forget to pack a sufficient amount.
Footwear: Short boots are best. They will keep your feet dry. Tennis shoes or other comfortable shoes work well for the travel days. If you choose to fish in tennis shoes, please bring a couple of pairs (they will get wet).
Outerwear: Even though the days are warm, the evenings can be cool and breezy. At least 1 jacket and 1 sweat shirt is recommended. A light rain suit should be packed. You will probably not need it, but if you do you will have it. The best advice is to dress in layers.
Sun Protection: Anything to keep the sun off your head. Sunscreen, don't forget it. Polarized sunglasses are a must.
Toiletries: Remember to pack all your shaving gear, shampoo, bath soap, deodorant, tooth brush and paste. A secret weapon is to bring Gold Bond Powder.
Towels: Bring two bath towels so one is always dry.
Fishing and Deck Items: Cross cutting pliers (dykes), needle nose pliers and or duck bill pliers. Rod belt and harness – kidney style preferred (Taniguchi or Braid). For smaller fish a regular rod belt is fine. There are many manufacturers to choose from.
