Sun. Dec. 30, 2007:    We don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but we want to keep you updated on our fishing success. Fishing is very slow at least for us right now. We are moving South tonight in search of warmer water. We still have alot of time and our hopes are high. Reports will be up daily so check back tomorrow.

Thur. Dec. 27, 2007:    After a well deserved break for the holidays we are back at it. We left San Diego yesterday after picking up a nice load of bait with an excited group of anglers ready for some Tuna fishing. With a couple of travel days ahead of us and a few tackle seminars, our anglers are busy rigging up for action to come. Reports will follow.

Thur. Dec. 13, 2007:    We have great traveling weather as we head towards home and our ETA is 10:00 am Friday the 14th.

Tue. Dec. 11, 2007:    Here's a few more.

Tue. Dec. 11, 2007:    Well here goes. With today being our last day down here it was absolutly a wonderful way to wrap things up. We drifted again all day and picked away at these brutes ending the day with 12 of the 120 to 190lb. grade and 8 from 210 to 260lbs. We also picked up another Tuna today that taped out at 381 lbs. Congrats go to Bill Falter for battling this GIANT Tuna and as you can imagine Bill is a very excited and happy fisherman. Bill hooked this fish on the kite after it exploded on a jumbo live squid pinned to a custom double hook leader using an 18/0 Mustad 39960D circle hook and a 12/0 7691 Stinger attached to a 600 lb. Softsteel leader. Backing that up with 200 lb. Jerry Brown hollow spectra on an AVET PRO EXW 50-2 ( thanks Harry, you rock ) and a Seeker G463XXXH Black Steel Grafite rod this fish really didn't stand a chance. Here is a couple of shots and I'm sure there will be more later.

Mon. Dec. 10, 2007:    We had another great day down here on these beautiful Tuna. Along with a steady pick on the 150 to 190 lb. fish, we ended up with two at 205, a 210, 212, 243, 245, 246, 273, 300, and a 337. We have one more day down here and hope fishing like this continues. Here's a couple of pics taken today.

Sun. Dec. 9, 2007:    Fishing remains very good down here for us. The weather is starting to build but has not been a problem fishing wise. 91 year old Joe Talasy is just like a machine catching these beauties. He's tugged on several of these fish up to 195 lbs.and is just having a ball. We will report back tomorrow.

Sat. Dec. 8, 2007:    We had great fishing again today along with weather to match. Our group is having a great time catching these beautiful grade fish. Here's a photo of Tom Hoskins and his nice catch, just one of many caught today. Will report back soon.

Fri. Dec. 7, 2007:    We had a pretty good day today to start things off. After stopping on a kelp for a handful of Dorado and five 60 to 80 lb. Tuna, we found a few schools and ended up with 40 Tuna from 60 to 150 lbs. We will report again tomorrow.

Thur. Dec. 6, 2007:    We enjoyed a nice day of rigging up and relaxing as we work our way south. Everyone on board is really enjoying the Long Range stories coming from Mr. Joe Talasy. Joe has been fishing since 1950 and has about a million of them. Keep em coming Joe. We will be in the zone come morning and our hopes are high.

Tues. Dec. 4, 2007:    We departed today around 11:00 am. and are hopeful fishing remains good despite reports from the big fish area. Reports to come.

Mon. Dec. 3, 2007:    Our weather is great and our ETA is 5:30 am Tuesday the 4th.

Sun. Dec. 2, 2007:    We had great Yellowtail fishing today along with beautiful weather on our way up. Check out Ryans nice fish! We will have an ETA tomorrow.

Sat. Dec. 1, 2007:    Fishing was good for us again today as we picked away at Tuna and ended up with limits. We are working our way up the line and tomorrow we will try some Yellowtail fishing.

Fri. Nov. 30, 2007:    We decided to make a move last night and picked up 90 Tuna for our effort. Nothing big to brag about, just 30 to 80lbs.ers that bit very well. We will try this again tomorrow and see what happens.

Wed. Nov. 28, 2007:    Sorry about the delay on our reports. System problems. Yesterday was very frustrating for us as we had fish around the boat most of the day but just could not get many to cooperate. Today things changed for us. We captured 15 Tuna up to 150 lbs. We are hopefull tomorrow will be even better.

Sun. Nov. 25, 2007:    We left yesterday at 11:00 am and are working our way South. Our Sardines look great and our weather is good. Today was spent rigging up and relaxing before we arrive at the Cow zone. Prime Rib for dinner tonight ala Chef Javier will be great as always. Back to you tomorrow.

Thur. Nov. 22, 2007:    HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you all from all of us at INTREPID SPORTFISHING.

Sun. Nov. 18, 2007:    We fished the Ridge today and did real well on Yellows. The weather is ok and were moving up the line. Our trips are filling fast so give Carol a call at 877-686-7827 if you would like to get in on some great fishing.

Sat. Nov. 17, 2007:    Well, if you have been waiting to see if the LARGE type Tuna are going to bite before booking a trip, you might want to go ahead and make some calls. Today we ended up with a few over 200lbs. and several in the 180lb. class. Trips are filling fast.

Fri. Nov. 16, 2007:    Fishing was a little slower for us today out here on the tuna grounds. We still had a nice day with 18 Yellowfin up to a 130 lbs. The weather is coming up a little but still very fishable. We will give this area another shot tomorrow.

Thurs. Nov. 15, 2007:    We had a wonderful day with our passengers catching trophy grade yellowfin tuna here on the lower banks. We were fortunate enough to catch 30 tuna up to 175 lbs. The weather and the fishing conditions are great, wish us luck tomorrow.

Mon. Nov. 12, 2007:    Today was a travel day and the group spent the day rigging up, reading, sleeping and lots of eating. Tough life....We'll report back tomorrow.

Sun. Nov. 11, 2007:    We left today on another 10 day trip with hopes of great fishing. We will report back later.

Sat. Nov. 10, 2007:    Good morning. The ETA for the Intrepid is 5:30 am Sunday. In order to expedite our passenger and fish unloading process the Intrepid will be docking at FISHERMANS LANDING. The reason for this is there are 4 Long Range boats arriving Sunday morning at Point Loma Sportfishing. Passengers departing for our November 11 thru 21 trip will line up in front of Point Loma Sportfishing as usual and board at our regular slip. There is a Marathon happening on Scott St. starting at 6:00 am. Scott St. will be closed but there will be access to the landings. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks.

Fri. Nov. 9, 2007:    We had another good day on 20 to 30 lb. Yellows. It wasn't wide open but it was a good way to end our trip. We are headed home now and will give an ETA tomorrow.

Thur. Nov. 8, 2007:    We did real well on 25 lb. Yellows into the dark today around Turtle Bay. Tomorrow we will look at Cedros in hopes of some trophy size fish. Our weather is still fair so we'll report back tommorow.

Wed. Nov. 7, 2007:    Pretty good Yellowtail fishing for us today on the anchor. The weather is ok as we slowly move North towards the end of our trip. We will report back later.

Tues. Nov. 6, 2007:    We all know that on Long Range trips Marlin are not the usually targeted gamefish. With that said, what do you do when they are so thick you can walk on them? Well, you catch and release them unharmed for a phenominal day of Marlin fishing. By adding in Bull Dorado and a round or two of Wahoo, our patrons are happy and tired after a great day of fishing. The weather has turned kind of ugly but we will check back tomorrow.

Mon. Nov. 5, 2007:    We picked up more of the same grade of Tuna as yesterday. We are going to look further West in hopes of the larger type fish. Our weather is still good and we will report back.

Sun. Nov. 4, 2007:    After a full check of the Ridge we decided to head offshore and look for kelps and mammals. We located a spot of Porpoise and it was holding pretty good. The crew tagged 30 Tuna in the short time they wanted to bite. These fish were 20 -25 pound average and the group had a great time. We are headed to Mag Bay for bait and will return to the same area in the morning. Our weather is just great and to make things even better I believe Prime Rib is on the menu for dinner. Will check back tomorrow.

Sat. Nov. 3, 2007:    Our group caught a few Yellows today on the upper end of the Ridge. We will be doing some looking and will report back later.

Fri. Nov. 2, 2007:    We are enjoying a nice day of traveling and will be angling shortly. The weather is nice and we hope the catching is just as good. Will give a report tomorrow.

Thur. Nov. 1, 2007:    The Intrepid departed before noon today after loading an excited group from the Rod Rack. We will keep you posted on our progress.

Wed. Oct. 31, 2007:    We arrived at 6:00am and unloaded our catch. Many thanks to a great bunch of guys.

3rd Place: Jeff Peck - 34.6 lb. Tuna.

Tues. Oct. 30, 2007:   SLOPPY AGAIN    Upon arriving at the upper kelp zone we were greeted with lots of wind and very few kelps. The kelps we did find were not holding much, but we did manage to catch a few. Our ETA is 6:00am.

Mon. Oct. 29, 2007:   TIME TO MOVE ON!    We landed a hand full of nice YFTs and 10 of those FAT LUPE Yellowtail. We are going to run up tonight and look for kelps tomorrow.

Sun. Oct. 28, 2007:   STILL AT THE LUPE!    We stayed put and picked a few on the anchor. One fish hooked at 5:00 pm on 30lb. spit the hook at gaff about 8:00 pm. Bummer! We will check back tomorrow.

Sat. Oct. 27, 2007:   GREAT WEATHER!    Pretty slow fishing this afternoon. Sounds like a morning type thing. We will remain here at the LUPE tomorrow and see what happens.

Jackpot Winners:
1st Place: Ron Adamson - 70.8 lb. Tuna.
2nd Place: Jason Winbigler - 54.6 lb. Tuna.
3rd Place: Ben Cambron - 52 lb. Tuna.
Honorable Mention goes to Milo Rivera for his 85 lb. Tuna on the kite.

We departed at 11:30 am for a 5 day adventure and will report back tomorrow.

Thur. Oct. 25, 2007:   HEADED HOME!    We fished Cedros yesterday and picked a few Yellows to end our trip. Conditions were poor but we worked hard to make a catch. Our ETA is 6:00 am tomorrow and we depart at 11:00 am on our Seeker/Avet 5 day.

Tues. Oct. 23, 2007:   GOOD YELLOWS!    We caught some nice Yellowtail today and we are still on the move North. Our weather is almost as good as tonight's dinner. Will report tomorrow.

Mon. Oct. 22, 2007:   TIME TO HEAD NORTH!    We had a nice school of Dorado that would not leave us alone today. After quick limits on DODOS, the Tuna that would boil up occasionally never really wanted to cooperate with us. We are headed toward the Ridge.

Sun. Oct. 21, 2007:   PAYOFF!!    We finally found some Fish that wanted to cooperate. The Tuna were in the 40 to 70 lb. class and wanted it pretty good. We lost a few of the larger type, but it sure was good to see them in the mix. These fish were found about 12 to 15 miles South of the other boats. We are staying put tonight and are hoping for a good day tomorrow.

All of us are fully aware of the devastating Wildfires happening in San Diego and Los Angeles Counties. Our Thoughts and Prayers go out to all involved in this serious situation.

Sat. Oct. 20, 2007:   STILL LOOKING!    Our eyeballs are sore from looking today and the bird schools didn't want to bite. We did break up the day with some pretty good Carp fishing. The weather is still OK, and we are staying put. We will look around again tomorrow and report back.

Fri. Oct. 19, 2007:   HIGH HOPES!!    Well, we did alot of looking today and did not find what we were targeting. The weather is great and our Hopes are High for tomorrow. Thankfully our group is patient and enjoyed the weather. We will report back on Sat. nite.

Thru. Oct. 18, 2007:   THE RIDGE!!    We had a very good day of fishing. Most of the fish were released do to lack of size. There were a few nicer grade Tuna, Yellowtail and Wahoo that we did put a tag on and the group had a ball. The weather seems to have backed off for now so tomorrow we are going to explore.

Wed. Oct. 17, 2007:   SURFS UP!!    Needless to say, our weather is poor. The good thing is we're running in the right direction. We're going to check out the Ridge in the morning and hope things change for the better. We will give you a report tomorrow. Have a Great Nite!

Tues.. Oct. 16, 2007:   Turn Around!!    We returned this morning at 6:00 am and off loaded the catch our GREAT GROUP produced. Thanks guys, you were a pleasure. We reloaded and departed around 11:00 am and are heading South with high hopes. We'll report back tomorrow.

Mon. Oct. 15, 2007:   Homeward Bound!    We are pointed toward Point Loma and will arrive around 6:00 am. Today the weather is fairly nice and we like that. See you all tomorrow.

Sun. Oct. 14, 2007:   Hello Again!!    We fished Cedros all day today and had to work hard to make a catch. Our 8 patrons did very well and each managed to land 3 or 4 of those great quality Cedros Yellowtail. It took alot of drifts to make a catch and they all hung in there well. The weather is still poor and we are headed for home. We will be home Tues. Oct. 16 and will post an ETA tomorrow.

Sat. Oct. 13, 2007:    We arrived at Cedros today and the fishing was good. We can fish here all day tomorrow before we have to start heading for home. We will report again tomorrow.

Fri. Oct. 12, 2007:   Hey We're Back !!    Sorry for the delay in our fishing reports. Even though we are equipped with so called state-of-art electronics and communication devices, sometimes getting them to work correctly is a problem, we are doing everything we can to solve them. Enough said about that.

We fished the Rocks yesterday and picked up a few nicer Yellows and a few Tuna. Today we are on the Ridge and the Tuna fishing is very good with the exception of the size. They are very small. The weather is lousy 15 to 25 knots out of the North and the current is ripping up hill out of the South need we say more? We will try to give another report tonight if everything works out. Again, thanks for your patience.

Mon. Oct. 1, 2007:   Today Was Incredible !!    The weather was awesome at Cedros, and we had limits of yellowtail, 65 of them were in the 25 to 30 lb. class. Our 12 passengers are tickled pink! Javier served a beautiful pork chop dinner, with all the fixin's and of course apple pie for dessert. Never plan to lose weight on the Intrepid. Doesn't get any better than this!

Sat. Sept. 29, 2007:    Albacore fishing was down for everyone today. Looks like fish made a move.
The wind laid down this evening so we are heading south. Our 12 passengers enjoyed an exquisite Prime Rib dinner by Chef Javier while watching football and racing in the salon. Life is good aboard the Intrepid.

Sat. Sept. 22, 2007:    The fishing today was the usual. Some boats did good ... some boats did not. Scores from 20 to 75 fish were the norm. We were in the 40 to 50 range, with fewer anglers aboard. ETA 6:00 am.

Thu. Sept. 20, 2007:   Good Yellowtail Fishing !!    We had great fishing at Cedros with 100 + Yellows and we are heading home. ETA 6:30 am....NICE weather!

Here is a photo of Rick Wilson & Capt. Danny. This is just one of many fish Rick caught today, he showed us all how it's done.

Mon. Sept. 17, 2007:   Fishing At Alijos !!    Sorry for the late report but here's what's going on. Fished the Rocks Sunday and Monday. Not bad fishing but of course it could have been better. We picked up 25 Wahoo, 15 Yellows and 11 YFT. We also stopped on a few kelps and caught 40 Dorado. We are headed towards the Ridge so we will keep you posted.

There is a nice swell but the wind seems to be backing off.

Thu. Sept. 13, 2007:    We left Cedros last night after having to work hard to make a catch that day. It wasn't as wide open as before but we did catch a GREAT grade of fish. We had beautiful weather at the island which isn't the case now. ETA is 7:30 AM

Mon. Sept. 10, 2007:    We checked out the Ridge yesterday and it resembled Death Valley. No signal & the same with the fish. Arrived at the Rocks this morning and picked up 16 Wahoo. Very good quality fish. Lost a few also. Were having a good time with 30 to 70 lb. Yellowfin Tuna and it is steady fishing. We will report tomorrow.
